Therapeutic Mentor Job Description

Reporting to the Program Director, Therapeutic Mentor will work collaboratively with all PRP staff to execute all eligible services to assigned youth.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain contact with minor’s family and treatment team;

  • Implementations of rehabilitation activities outlined in the minor’s IRTP;

  • Completion and implementation of IRTPs

  • Have a minimum active case load of 20 minors

  • Meet monthly for individual and group supervision

  • Attend and complete all required trainings both in service and online

  • Help clients achieve their goals by coaching, training, supporting linkages to community resources.

  • Maintaining good records and documentation

  • Communicate regularly with clinical staff and guardians and parents

  • Participate in all treatment planning

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field, desired or

  • Proof of completion of Thirty (30) hours, or the equivalent of college credit toward a bachelor’s degree in a health related field; or

  • 1 year of work experience in a supervised mental health setting or;

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field, desired and

  • Sixty or more hours of (proven) on-the job direct PRP supervision before providing services to minors served by the program without direct supervision

  • Prior experience working with troubled youth desired

  • Excellent working knowledge and use of an Electronic Clinical Record system (ECR)

  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and intermediate to advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent writing skills
